The ISU Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. David L. Collier and Dr. Ben Stiers, will present their fall concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, November 3, in the Kemp Recital Hall on the campus of Illinois State University. The concert is free and open to the public.
The fall program explores the unique rhythmic and timbral combinations that are possible with smaller percussion groupings but begins with a larger work for percussion–Cross Currents by Lynn Glassock. Cross Currents is a work for ten players that utilizes wood, metal, and skin instruments—both pitched and unpitched—to create an ever-shifting series of themes and textures. This performance features our freshman percussionists conducted by graduate teaching assistant Sara Eckert.
Percussion Ensemble:
Gavin Benedick, Jack Cacciabondo, Sara Eckert, Hannah Fedorchak, Jewels Fuqua, Bridget Hagen, Alex Harper, Ben Haushalter, Kyle Heissler, Joshua Henderson, Kye Johnson, Kirsten Kadow, Wyatt Mastin, Emily Mobley, Marek Pedziwater, Alex Popaeko, Ethan Prado, Abbey Schiller, Sage Shoaf, Nick Sleevar, and Kale Star.
