With the fall semester wrapping up, University Housing Services (UHS) is pleased to announce this term’s recipients of the Resident Assistant (RA) Scholarship. This scholarship is presented to RAs who exemplify success in the classroom and the RA Leadership role. This semester, five $500 academic scholarships were awarded to exceptional students.

Demonstrating attentiveness while continuously building meaningful connections with her residents, Maddy Clark was an exceptional candidate for the RA Scholarship.

“This scholarship helped me take off some financial burden for next semester so I can focus on my studies,” Clark said. “Nursing is a hard major at ISU and I am known to take my schoolwork very seriously. I always strive to do my best and I’ll be able to focus completely on that next semester.”

Clark attributes her motivation to do well to her co-workers and residence hall coordinators (RHC).

“My co-workers are awesome at their jobs, and it has made me want to succeed,” Clark said. “My RHC Courtney is so supportive and always has my back. I want to make her proud and positively represent Hewett Hall.”

Clark also mentions her residents as a source of motivation: “They are great humans, and I want to make their experience at ISU just a little bit better.”

When asked about her favorite part of being an RA, Clark mentioned her residents and the relationships she builds with each one.

“I enjoy seeing them around campus and being their go-to person if they have any questions,” Clark said. “My residents are awesome people and I have loved getting to know them on a personal level!”
