With the fall semester wrapping up, University Housing Services is pleased to announce this term’s recipients of the Resident Assistant (RA) Scholarship award. The RA scholarship is presented to resident assistants (RA) who exemplify success in the classroom and the RA leadership role. This semester, five $500 academic scholarships were awarded to exceptional students.
An outstanding communicator and supportive leader, Kassidy Matykiewicz was a magnificent candidate for the RA Scholarship.
“She maintains an open-door policy and is available for her residents whenever they need assistance, whether answering questions or simply being someone to talk to,” her supervisor explains. “She has excelled in creating an inclusive and supportive community, putting in the work by completing her bird calls several weeks before they were due.”
Kassidy’s dedication to her academic pursuits is evident through her impressive academic record. With a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and a Dean’s List achievement in all semesters, she demonstrates her commitment to excellence in her leadership role and studies.
“Receiving this scholarship has had a huge impact on me. It has alleviated some financial stress, allowing me to focus more on my studies and extracurricular activities without worrying as much about tuition and expenses,” says Matykiewicz. “I’m grateful for the support, and it’s made me more confident about reaching my goals.”
Matykiewicz mentions her motivation stems from the people around her, especially her family and close friends.
“Their support and belief in me help keep me going, especially when things are hard,” Matykiewicz explains. “I also want to keep improving and reach my goals, which pushes me to work harder.
