As the end of the year approaches, employees are reminded to plan ahead for university closures and an early payroll date. The University Payroll Office will process the December month-end paychecks on Tuesday, December 23, ahead of the winter break. The office will close at 4:30 p.m. on December 23 and reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 8 a.m.
To ensure timely receipt of pay, all employees are strongly encouraged to enroll in direct deposit. Direct deposit enrollment must be completed by December 10 to be effective for the December 23 payment. Employees who are not enrolled in direct deposit will receive paper paychecks via mail and should verify that their mailing address is current in the system by the same deadline.
How to enroll in direct deposit
1. Log in to iPeople.
- If accessing from outside the ISU network, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required.
2. Select the direct deposit tile.
3. Click the plus sign (+) beneath accounts to add a new account.
4. Acknowledge the terms and conditions by selecting OK.
5. Enter account details:
- Nickname–a label for your account.
- Routing number–available on your check or from your bank.
- Account number–also found on your check or from your bank.
- Retype account number–to confirm accuracy.
- Account type–choose checking or savings.
- Deposit type–select “remaining balance” for a single account, or “amount/percent” to split deposits.
- Amount or percent–if using multiple accounts.
6. Click save to complete enrollment.
Updating your mailing address
Employees who will receive paper checks must confirm their mailing address is correct in the system by December 10. Instructions for updating addresses are available through Human Resources.
