For the second-straight season, the Illinois State men’s basketball team will end the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season on ESPN2 as part of the Valley’s “Wildcard Weekend.” The 7 p.m. game (CST) against the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) will be played on Feb. 27 at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The Redbirds ended the 2008-2009 regular season at Creighton and suffered a 74-70 loss. This year the Redbirds will finish by facing the nation’s No. 22 team, the UNI Panthers. The game will mark the fourth time this season Illinois State will have appeared on the ESPN family of networks. Earlier this season the Redbirds hosted UNI on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena. That game was also televised on ESPN2.
