The Illinois State University String Project is offering a virtual camp July 27 through 31. The String Project Summer Camp online edition is a summer community program for violin, viola, cello, and bass students entering grades four through eight. Students should have at least one year of playing experience. Each student will attend a variety of Zoom classes each day focusing on technique, orchestral excerpts, alternative styles, and digital duos. Students will be able to upload their assignments for individual feedback using Flipgrid. Additionally, all students will be invited to daily “Geek Out/Hang Out” sessions with String Project faculty to learn more about the music world.
The cost of the five-day camp is $50 per student. Students will need their own instruments, music stands, and a computer or tablet with a reliable internet connection. Music will be provided.
Limited partial scholarships are available; please contact Professor Kate Lewis if your child is eligible for free/reduced classes.
