The Friends of the Arts next Gallery Gallop will be held March 6 for The House of the Seven Gables exhibit at Illinois State’s University Galleries.
Kendra Paitz, curator of exhibitions at University Galleries, will present the gallery walk on the group show inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1851 novel of the same name. The House of the Seven Gables features 22 contemporary artists who explore themes of haunting, portraiture, and the domestic uncanny.
The featured artists are Reed Barrow, Corinne Botz, Jan Bunnig, Anne Collier, Bill Conger, Drew Conrad, Sue de Beer, Rachel Feinstein, Andreas Fischer, Anya Gallaccio, Benjamin Gardner, Katy Grannan, Alice Hargrave, Bob Jones, Brian Kapernekas, Rachel Khedoori, Peter Krashes, Jacco Olivier, Robert Overby, Dario Robleto, Gregor Schneider, and Sarah E. Wood.
The exhibition is on view through April 7. The gallery walk and exhibition are open to the public.
