A series from University College aims to provide a brave space for respectful dialogue about race, racism, and race-related topics.
“Let’s Talk Race: Finding Your Voice” occurs from 6-7 p.m. every third Tuesday throughout the semester. Any student advised in University College or any student connected with University College can register here.
Started by Lana Summers, an academic advisor in University College, “Let’s Talk About Race: Finding Your Voice” is designed to engage students in the work for change. “The sessions allow students to share their personal experiences, educate and support one another, and enact change within University College,” said Summers.
The spring 2021 semester focuses on podcasts and videos. Those participating listen to a podcast or watch a video in advance. During the dialogue, discussion questions help guide the conversation.
Sessions remaining in the spring will be:
April 20
May 11
Those with questions can contact Summers at Ltsumme@ilstu.edu.
