At the time of Robert Dean’s retirement in June 2012, a group of friends and colleagues chose to honor the significant difference Dean’s leadership and integrity made in their lives and in the lives of University Laboratory School students over his 26-year career at Illinois State University.
The Dr. Robert L. Dean Leadership Fund for the Laboratory Schools will be used to support emerging student leaders by providing financial assistance for activities related to leadership development. The fund honors Dean’s belief that an investment in leadership is an investment in the future.
Dean’s friends and colleagues Tom and Claire Lamonica, Casey and Maribeth Lartz, and Frank and Jean Chiodo created a wonderful opportunity for many of his supporters to make gifts to the fund in honor of Dean’s legacy of commitment to excellence and integrity at the University Laboratory Schools.
The group invites all alumni and friends to contribute and hopes many will, as the goal is to endow the fund so that it will continue in perpetuity. An endowed fund requires a minimum principal of $20,000. If you would like to participate, you may do so by making a donation to the Illinois State University Foundation. You may mail your gift by sending your check to the foundation at Illinois State University Foundation, Campus Box 8000, Normal, IL 61790-8000, indicating on the check’s memo line “The Dr. Robert L. Dean Leadership Fund.” If you would prefer to charge your gift to your credit card or work for a company that will match your gift, you may contact Gail Lamb at (309) 438-2903 or galamb@ilstu.edu.
Dean will be notified that you have made a gift in his honor. The committee thanks you for joining them in this significant effort to honor his 26 years of outstanding leadership at the University Laboratory Schools.
