Cultural graduation recognition ceremonies celebrate the accomplishments of graduating Redbirds and their families. These ceremonies present an opportunity for graduating students to honor those who have supported them through their journey while also centering their cultural identity, traditions, and values. Each ceremony recognizes the achievements and successes of Redbird graduates and is separate from the traditional commencement ceremonies.
Events were held this spring by Umoja, a celebration of Black graduates—at the Bone Student Center, Nuestro Logros, which honors Latino/a/x graduates, at Edwards Hall, and MAPS—which recognizes Middle Eastern, Asian, Pacific Islander, and Southeast Asian graduates—at the Multicultural Center. Below are a selection of photos from some of the events.
