For the fifth straight season and 10th time in program history, the Illinois State women’s track and field team won the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship. The Redbirds became the first program in league history to capture five-straight team titles.
Appears InDirector of Track and Field and Cross Country Jeff Bovee was named MVC Women’s Coach of the Year, and Lindsey Miller—a member of the MVC-champion 4×100 meter relay team—was named MVC Freshman of the Year.
The women’s team also won the MVC Indoor Championship for the fifth time in the past six seasons. The men’s team finished second at the indoor meet and third at the outdoor meet.
“I’m incredibly proud of the men and women in this program,” Bovee said after the indoor meet. “I want to share my gratitude to the coaching staff, support staff, and administration who work together to shape this group into champions on and off the track/field.”
