Professor Daniel Breyer
On October 25 and 26, the Department of Philosophy and the religious studies program will host a two-day conference on religious education. This conference will be free and open to the public, and will be funded by the Shaw Teaching Fellowship that was awarded to Professor Daniel Breyer last year.

Keynote speakers
Mark Berkson is chair of the Department of Religion at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Gadadhara Pandit Dasa (aka Pandit) is a Hindu monk who regularly contributes to The Huffington Post.
Mark Muesse is an associate professor of religious studies at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee.
Call for papers
The conference organizers invite qualified faculty members and graduate students to submit papers for presentation. Paper submissions should clearly address at least one of the five questions listed above. Papers should be no more than 4,000 words and be appropriate for a 30- to 40-minute reading time. Papers should be submitted electronically as word documents to Breyer at dbreyer@IllinoisState.edu with the subject heading “Conference Paper Submission.” Submissions must be received by September 15.
