Casting director and Emmy Award winner Jennifer Rudnicke ’91 sits down on this episode of Redbird Buzz to discuss her career in theatre and television and how she got her start at Illinois State University. With a degree in theatre, design, production, and technology, Rudnicke launched a 30-year career in Chicago and is a co-owner of Paskal Rudnicke Casting. She and her business partner cast for television, film, commercials, and print in the Chicago area.
Rudnicke has carved out a niche with casting in Chicago, and that comes through in her work on shows like Shameless and South Side. In this episode, Rudnicke shares how she got her start in the industry, how her brain works like a human Rolodex in her casting work, and what it felt like to be on stage accepting a Primetime Emmy for her work on the hit show The Bear.
