Students of current Civil Service (CS) employees can apply for scholarships through the Civil Service Council. Applications will be open October 1-December 31, 2024.
The Civil Service Scholarship committee will convene to make its selections in January after the 10th day of spring classes. The committee intends to contact award recipients before the end of February 2025.

All applications must be submitted by December 31, 2024.
- Civil Service ISU Scholarship—for children or dependents attending Illinois State University with a parent or guardian who is an Illinois State Civil Service staff member.
- Civil Service Non-ISU Scholarship—for children or dependents attending another college or university with a parent or guardian who is an Illinois State Civil Service staff member.
- Carl Johanson Civil Service Staff Scholarship—for Illinois State University Civil Service employees advancing their career through education, endowed by Dr. Alvin Goldfarb, in honor of his father-in-law.
