Hosted by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Center for Civic Engagement, Dr. Jeff Menzise will lead two enriching sessions under the theme “Mindful Deliberations,” which is tailored distinctly for students and staff/faculty.
Menzise is a renowned figure both locally and globally, with a deep commitment to educational development across diverse communities. He has significantly contributed through collaborations with Ministries of Education in the Caribbean and West Africa, enhancing professional development for educators and mental health professionals alike. His work extends to notable involvements like hosting a forum with Taraji P. Henson at the inaugural “Can We Talk?” conference and serving on the Clinical Advisory Council of The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation.
Menzise’s academic footprint includes a series of roles at prestigious institutions such as Howard University, Tennessee State University, and Meharry Medical College, among others. He has also engaged with the Rodham Institute, aligning his expertise with broader educational initiatives now at Georgetown University.
An accomplished author and public scholar, Menzise has penned 10 books and numerous scholarly articles, additionally crafting “Issue Guides” for the Kettering Foundation. His expertise is regularly sought at conferences like the NAIS People of Color Conference and workshops for organizations including the National Black Child Development Institute and the Walmart Corporation.
In his personal quest for holistic wellness, Menzise pursues studies in mindfulness meditation, Chi Gong, and ancient models of psychological well-being. As a certified Kemetic yoga instructor, he integrates these disciplines into his coaching practice, offering sought-after wellness workshops and community education forums that address a variety of topics, aiming to enhance both individual and community health.
