The lineup has been announced for the Your Normal LGBT Film Festival at the Normal Theater. All tickets are $7 unless otherwise noted. Tickets are available with cash only at the Normal Theater box office.
Wednesday, Oct. 16, will have a free 7 p.m. screening of Break Through. Funded through micro-financing and online donations, the documentary focuses on the Theatre of Social Change movement, and the stand against the dangerous marginalization of LGBT citizens in America.
Thursday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. will be a showing of I’m So Excited. Acclaimed director Pedro Almodovar’s (Volver, All About My Mother) newest lighthearted comedy chronicles what may be the last moments of a plane’s bizarre passengers and its colorful crew. There will also be an afterparty at Medici to discuss the feature.
Friday, Oct. 18, will have a 7 p.m. showing of Reaching for the Moon, which features the tragic love affair between American poet Elizabeth Bishop and Brazilian architect Lota de Macedo Soares.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, transgender stand-up comedian Ian Harvie takes a positive look at his transition at 4 p.m with Ian Harvie: Superhero.
The evening of Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. will be a showing of Geography Club, which features a group of students of varying sexual orientations that forms a discrete after-school club. Scott Bakula and Ana Gasteyer head a youthful cast of actors.
Sunday, Oct. 20, will feature the film G.B.F. at 7 p.m. When a teen comes out as gay in high school, his status as “gay best friend” becomes the hot commodity for the queen bees. Natasha Lyonne, Evanna Lynch, Horatio Sanz, Jonathan Silverman and Megan Mullally only begin a long list of Hollywood favorites.
