The public is invited to two open forums at Illinois State University, with the aim of gathering information to develop future University goals and strategies.

The forums will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, in the Alumni Center, room 118; and from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in the Bone Student Center Prairie Room.

The forums will be hosted by Illinois State’s Educating Illinois Task Force as part of the revision of Educating Illinois, the University’s strategic plan, which identifies goals and strategies aligned with the University’s mission, vision and values. The document has been revised twice since 2001.

The Task Force, led by Provost Sheri Everts and Vice President Dan Layzell, aims to gather input from all across the campus and the community in order to gauge the University’s current strengths and future opportunities and challenges.

University President Al Bowman, who refers to Educating Illinois as “the single most important University document,” called upon the administration to update the publication in his State of the University address last fall. “Educating Illinois has helped transform Illinois State into what it is today – a top-choice public institution, and a destination for quality faculty, staff members and motivated students,” said Bowman.

For additional information on the open forums, visit http://educatingillinois.illinoisstate.edu/ or for special accommodations, contact 438-8393. Anyone unable to attend the open forums can offer input through an online survey on the Educating Illinois website.
