A favorite campus tradition, the Homecoming parade, has been retooled to ease the viewing experience. The 2011 parade steps off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, and will travel a new path through the renovated Uptown Normal. A map of the parade route and parking options is available online.

The entry deadline for the parade is October 7. Parade registration forms are available online. Cash prizes will be awarded for floats and marching bands. Community entries are limited to the first 50 registrations.

Parade entries will be judged on incorporation of the Homecoming theme, originality, workmanship, animation, and special effects, as well as general presentation. Parade-goers will also have a chance to “Vote the Float” via mobile devices.

Additional information on parade rules and guidelines may be found in the Parade Resource Guide, or by contacting Stephanie Duquenne.
