Do you consider yourself to be “culturally competent” enough to help your students thrive in a diverse society?

The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology invites you to explore your own intercultural skills and discover new ways to connect with your students. In turn, you can help your students make connections with the larger world.

Join us at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, for the next part of our Teaching Excellence Series, Creating an Inclusive Learning Environment.

We’ll begin by exploring how Illinois State students already connect with the world. We’ll gauge their levels of community involvement, examine the kinds of student organizations which attract them, and discover how these trends shift among different demographic populations. Then, we’ll explore how an understanding of your own ability to interact with others across cultural boundaries can help you to model successful learning. The discussion will be facilitated by staff members from the Dean of Students Office and CTLT.

The workshop will be held at in the CTLT Resource Commons, in the ITDC Building at 301 South Main Street. No registration is required.
