Whether you’re an old pro or someone new to ReggieNet, there’s plenty of opportunity to learn this month.
The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology will offer full-day ReggieNet courses starting Tuesday, June 17, as part of the 2014 Summer Institute. These comprehensive, hands-on workshops are taught in a computer lab, and you’ll get a chance to prepare your course sites for the fall semester. Stipends are available for eligible faculty. Introduction to ReggieNet
9 a.m.–3 p.m. Tuesday, June 17
Get a complete tour of Illinois State’s learning system and its popular tools. Gain valuable ideas about ways to enhance your students’ learning experience. You will leave this workshop with the basic skills to add learning materials, activities, and assessments to your individualized ReggieNet course site.
ReggieNet: Communication
9 a.m.–3 p.m. Thursday, June 19
Learn how the communication tools provided with ReggieNet can be used to encourage student interaction. You will be introduced to Discussion, Discussion Forums, Chat Rooms, Course Mail, and the Email Tool. You will also learn how to choose the right tool for specific instructional situations. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet.
ReggieNet: Assessments
9 a.m.–3 p.m. Tuesday, June 24
This workshop will cover the assessment tools available in ReggieNet, including Tests & Quizzes, Assignments, and File Drop. Explore the options available for different types of assessment, the limitations of the assessment tools, and instructional strategies for promoting academic integrity. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet.
ReggieNet: Content and Organization
9 a.m.–3 p.m. Thursday, June 26
Explore several ways to organize course materials in ReggieNet, including the Modules and Calendar tools. This full-day workshop will also highlight Lesson Builder, a powerful tool that allows you to integrate resources from across your ReggieNet site into online lessons. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet.
