The Career Center will discontinue the management of hard copy credential files requests beginning June 30, 2011.

Credential files were commonly established by education majors and graduate students.  The purpose of the credential file was to have the Career Center act as a third party in maintaining letters of reference and student teaching evaluations.  Credential files do not contain official Illinois State University files or records.  Credential files do not contain transcripts.  Credential files are not automatically generated; students or alums would have had to reach out to the Career Center to have one created.

If you believe you have created a credential file, visit the Career Center’s credential file Web page for further information.  If you have further questions, contact Renee Carrigan, Career Center Office and Budget Manager at (309) 438-5864.  Requests will be processed as received.

Sort of sad to see them go away. I remember filling out those intimidating forms back in the 1960s and how fearful I was of getting the wrong information on the wrong lines and what my references would actually say about me. Guess I will celebrate MY records going away.

    Best to you all.
