Chase Breeden, a senior management-organizational leadership major, is very involved with the Dean of Students Office. After Breeden attended Preview and Festival ISU, he realized there were a lot of different ways he could get involved on campus.
Breeden has been on the University Hearing Panel, served as a student life senator in the Student Government Association, volunteered with the University Program Board, and attended many programs offered through Leadership and Service. Breeden’s experiences at Illinois State have taught him leadership skills, team development, time management, and relationship building. He believes what happens outside the classroom are the greatest learning experiences.
Breeden encourages involvement and would recommend that students check out the Student Involvement Center as a place to start. He also recommends stopping by the Leadership and Service office because “it is another great first step for students to learn how they can volunteer in a small or big way on campus.”
Through Breeden’s experiences, he feels more prepared for life after college and even hopes to work in Student Affairs. He says that the Dean of Students Office inspired these future career plans. The staff “provides tons of resources and helps guide people to find their passion.”
