Join the School of Art on Monday, October 13, from 2:30–4:30 p.m. for pumpkin-carving fun.
Come see School of Art students and prospective undergrads create strange and wonderful carved pumpkins. Students will use their creative skills to make unusual carvings and compete for prizes. This exciting event gives students a chance to use their artistic abilities outside the classroom. It’s a chance to interact with faculty, staff, and their families in a casual setting.
Who is invited? Students, staff, and faculty and their children. We also invite all prospective undergrad students visiting campus to participate.
Pumpkins will be provided for Illinois State University Art students and prospective undergrads.
Location: Sculpture yard next to the front entrance of the Center for the Visual Arts (CVA) on the south end of campus. The rain location will be 130 CVA.
Juror: Claire Hedden, curator, Mclean County Arts Center
Refreshments and carving tools will be provided by the School of Art. Music will be provided by Barry Blinderman, director of University Galleries. Mike Wille, acting director of the School of Art, will be present to greet students. This event is being organized by School of Art faculty member Claire Lieberman.
