To enhance and support operations, the iPeople system used by Illinois State employees to submit time cards, enroll in benefits, and view pay advices will move to the “cloud” and be upgraded.
The HCM PeopleSoft environment will be clouded and upgraded to the current PeopleSoft 9.2 supported version of PeopleSoft HCM by a target date of April 2015. The project is in support of the LEAPForward Initiative and is a collaboration between Administrative Technologies, Human Resources, Comptroller’s Office, and the Budget Office.
The core objectives of this upgrade are to help bring the system up to date, take advantage of new functionality, reduce customizations (i.e. changes Illinois State made previously to the purchased/delivered product), and lay the foundation for future enhancements.
Currently, project members are reviewing and testing PeopleSoft 9.2 functionality and reviewing customizations. To date, the team has worked toward tailoring the system to Illinois State’s needs and will continue to seek opportunities to take advantage of new functionality.
How will the upgrade affect employees? Those who are submitting and approving time online; viewing Pay Advice and Form W-2s; and tracking personnel and employment information are expected to experience minimal changes.
