Miller Park Zoo has multiple opportunities for students wanting to gain experience working with animals.
Animal care volunteers work with the zookeepers, helping them with daily duties such as cleaning, diets, enrichment, and maintenance. These volunteers come in once a week for a four-hour shift. Volunteers also have the opportunity to help with special events, or become certified education volunteers (known as docents) with additional training. With additional training, docents have the opportunity to become animal handlers as well.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Miller Park Zoo, fill out an application and turn it in to the zoo. Applications can be found online or at the zoo gift shop. For more information, please email Hailey Lanier.
