Each year University Housing Services (UHS) welcomes hundreds of guests to the residence halls for summer camps and conferences. To make their visit comfortable and worry-free, University Housing looks for energetic students to complete the Summer Conference team.
Conference assistants’ main responsibility is conference operations. This includes conference check-ins and checkouts, building preparation, front desk coverage, and emergency call response. In many cases, conference assistants are the first Illinois State University representative conference guests or students will meet. This position includes an $8.25/hour wage. Students interested in an increase in responsibility and leadership can consider the lead conference assistant. These positions hold all responsibilities of a conference assistant and support residence hall coordinators with training, scheduling, and providing leadership to the team. Those interested in this position will receive an $8.25/hour wage as well as room/board.
Summer resident assistant positions are also available and include room/board. Resident assistants provide leadership, assistance, and support to students living in the residence halls during the summer.
Applications for all positions can be found at www.Jobs.ilstu.edu under Student Postings beginning January 12 and are due by February 1. Questions can be directed to Robert Braswell.
