As a transfer student at Illinois State University, you won’t miss out on anything.

Just ask Ryan Downing, a senior psychology major who transferred to Illinois State himself. Downing found it easy to get the help he needed from his advisor, and he found all sorts of student involvement opportunities on campus. He even joined an Honors society just for transfer students.

“ISU has so many opportunities for you to get involved on campus,” Downing said.

In fact, more than one-third of Illinois State’s students have transferred from other colleges and universities.

The Office of Admissions offers special transfer student visit opportunities that include a presentation by an admissions counselor and a student-led walking tour of campus. Students can make a reservation for any of these options at IllinoisState.edu/Visit. Transfer students can also visit during one of our open houses.

Transfer students interested in applying for a fall semester should apply for admission by January 1. Students interested in applying for a spring semester should apply by August 1.

Once students are admitted, they should attend a Transfer Day Program. Students will meet with an academic advisor and register for classes. More information at IllinoisState.edu/TransferDays.
