Illinois State University’s University Band and Wind Symphony will perform in concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, in the University’s Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for faculty/staff and $6 for students and seniors.
The University Band will perform the world premiere of Illinois State student composer Brody Felix’s Fanfare and Chorale; Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Sea Songs; Percy A. Grainger’s Australian Up-Country Tune; and Incantation and Dance by John Barnes Chance.
The Wind Symphony will perform Gustav Holst’s First Suite in Eb; Ferrer Ferran’s Symphony No. 4 ‘El Coloso’; and Alexander Arutiunian’s Trumpet Concerto, featuring School of Music Professor Amy Gilreath, trumpet.
The ensembles will be conducted by Martin H. Seggelke and student conductor Amy Mikalauskas.
