Two state teachers of the year will share their expertise during a free public presentation “Teacher Leadership, Learning Forward” on Thursday, April 2, from 6–8 p.m. in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center.
This event will be hosted by the P-20 Council Teacher and Leadership Effectiveness Committee. Registration is required.
Attendees will discover the importance of teacher leadership and the Teach to Lead Initiative that is inspiring teachers across the nation to commit to lead. This event is a can’t-miss opportunity for current and aspiring educators!
About speakers
Annice Brave is a National Teacher of the Year finalist and the 2011 Illinois Teacher of the Year. The National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) has taught English and journalism at Alton High School in Alton for 27 years. She is also a winner of the National Education Association (NEA) Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence.
Maddie Fennell is the 2007 Nebraska Teacher of the Year and also an NBCT. She has served as an elementary teacher in the Omaha Public Schools for 25 years, and currently works as both a literacy coach and a classroom teacher ambassador fellow for the United States Department of Education.
