The Apparel Merchandising and Design Association (AMDA) will present its 14th annual student-run fashion show on Thursday, April 16, in the Brown Ballroom at the Bone Student Center. The show will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Guests will be invited to enjoy light appetizers and mocktails.

This year’s show is themed “Enchanted: From Dawn to Dusk.” Each year, the AMDA fashion show provides countless opportunities for passionate students entering the fashion industry or costume design world. The show gives student designers a chance to showcase their hard work to a panel of judges currently working in the industry. Looks are judged on construction, design, and runway appeal, which allow the judges to name first-, second-, and third-place winners at the end of the show.

The student designers design their looks based on the theme and what truly inspires them. The most rewarding experience is when they get to see their looks walk down the runway!

Not only does the show allow student designers to show off their talent, but the show is entirely student-run by a board of student directors. From design directors to modeling directors, there are student leaders for each part of the show in order to make sure that our show is the best it can be. The board of directors works hard throughout the entire school year to plan an amazing show.

Tickets are available online at Ticketmaster.com or at the Bone Student Center Box Office. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for Illinois State students and seniors, and $5 for children under the age of 10. Questions can be directed to Director Haley Hoesly. More information can be found on the AMDA fashion show Facebook page.
