After conversation with the IESA, Metcalf School has decided to offer IESA Golf for fall 2015. Any interested Metcalf students in grades 5-8 will need to declare their interest via email, to the athletic director, Mr. Paxson, at sppaxso@ilstu.edu by Monday, July 27.
The following information highlights some of the details in regards to participation. Please read the following carefully before emailing interest.
- There will be no formal practices for any Metcalf Golf team as with the other Metcalf activities offered.
- Students will be required to have prior experience playing golf and their own equipment including: golf clubs, golf balls, and golf shoes.
- Metcalf will not supply any uniform or equipment for participation.
The IESA fee is $40 per participant and each player would also be responsible for their own green fees at their respective sectional tournament. The fee paid to the IESA will come from Metcalf School after receiving payment from parents for the entry fee. The green fees will be paid by the student to the golf course assigned to the sectional.
If players are fortunate enough to make it to state, there is no fee for participation. The location of where our golfers would golf in the sectional is unknown at this time. We are only allowed to enter five boys and five girls in the sectional event and it is available to any 5th-8th grade Metcalf student. If we have more participants than spots available, we will need to determine who our top five boys and top five girls are when entries are due by having a playoff at a local golf course.
