ReggieNet: Lesson Builder

Discover how to easily create online instructional modules using Lesson Builder. This powerful tool allows you to integrate resources from across your ReggieNet site (tests and quizzes, assignments, discussion and discussion forums) into online lessons. Design lessons that require students to complete goals before they can proceed to the next stage. You will also learn how to integrate multimedia content. This course will also briefly discuss organizing content in other ReggieNet features, such as the Resources and Materials and Web Content tools. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet

Conventional wisdom says that teachers who “expect too much” get negative student evaluations, but research does not necessarily bear this out. In this session we will talk about what we can expect.

This development circle offers a combination of professional development and peer support to faculty members in their first three years of service at Illinois State. Topics are based on chapters in the award-winning book What the Best College Teachers Do (Harvard UP, 2004) by Ken Bain. Participants will receive a copy of the book and an executive summary of each chapter.

Meetings are on select Wednesdays or Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. Join us either day. Attend as many as you can during the semester, but don’t worry if you can’t attend all!

Explore how to use OneNote on desktop, tablet, and smartphone, and how to collaborate with others by synchronizing through OneDrive. Since OneNote is available for free to both students and instructors on campus, it can be an easy way for students to share media. Discuss different collaboration scenarios and ways to increase productivity. Participants are encouraged to bring their mobile device with OneNote already installed. Prerequisite: OneNote Level 1
