Professor Laurie Thompson-Merriman and Professor Ama Oforiwaa Aduonum will be leading a group of students to Ghana in July 2016 to explore the history and arts of Ghana through music, dance, and visits to historic sites. The program will visit Accra, Kumasi, Elmina, and Cape Coast during the two-week exploration.
This program is open to all majors and offers students the opportunity to earn credit towards their fine arts general education requirement and fulfill the global studies graduation requirement.
This program is very versatile in that it offers students the choice between five courses. Students can earn three to six credits. However, the program isn’t just for general education. It also offers music and dance majors the opportunity to learn more about their area of study in an immersive environment through THE 228 and MUS 275.
