Showcase your teaching, research, and service using your own, customized University web pages. About.IllinoisState is a browser-based way to create web pages. No additional software is required. This workshop is open to faculty and staff only. Registration is required.

ReggieNet: Lessons
Monday, April 11 • 1 to 4 p.m.

Discover how to easily create online instructional modules using the Lessons tool. This powerful tool allows you to integrate resources from across your ReggieNet site (Tests & Quizzes, Assignments, and Forums) into online lessons. Design lessons that require students to complete goals before they can proceed to the next stage. You will also learn how to integrate multimedia content. This course will also briefly discuss organizing content in other ReggieNet features, such as the Resources and Web Content tools. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet. Registration is required.

Clickers: Anywhere Presentations
Tuesday, April 12 • 9 a.m. to noon

This workshop introduces Anywhere Polling, standalone software that allows you to use classroom clickers in combination with websites and other media without having to build PowerPoint slides. Anywhere Polling works on both PC and Mac. This workshop is open to instructors, administrators, and staff only. Registration is required.

Get a basic understanding of Select Survey, an online survey and form development tool. You will learn how to quickly and easily create web-based surveys from your Web browser. This survey software allows you to easily deploy surveys and view real-time results as responses are received. This workshop is open to faculty, administrators, and staff only. Prezi
Tuesday, April 12 • 2 to 4 p.m.

Explore the fundamentals of this web-based alternative to PowerPoint. Prezi allows users to create stunning, animated presentations. Learn how to use Prezi’s powerful tools to lead your audience visually, step-by-step, through a narrative. This workshop is designed for both instructors who wish to use Prezi in the classroom and staff members who want to use Prezi for meetings and business presentations. Registration is required.

SoftChalk Create
Wednesday, April 13 • 9 a.m. to noon

Looking for a creative, new way to engage students? SoftChalk can help! This program lets you easily create engaging, interactive web lessons. You will learn to create interactive learning games such as customizable flashcards, image labeling, matching games, crosswords and more. SoftChalk Lessons are easily imported into ReggieNet. Registration is required.

Early-Career Faculty Development Circle

CTLT’s Early-Career Faculty Circles offer faculty in their first, second, or third year of service at Illinois State a combination of professional development and peer support. Join us for a series of lively conversations about surviving and thriving in the academy. Topics are based on chapters from Make It Stick: The Science of Successful Learning by Peter Brown, Henry Roediger, and Mark McDaniel. Participants will receive a copy of the book and an executive summary of each chapter. Come to either the Wednesday or Thursday session. No registration is necessary.

Effortful learning changes the brain. In this session, we will talk about ways to encourage effortful learning as well as reflect back on our discussions throughout the semester.

OneNote: Introduction
Thursday, April 14 • 9 a.m. to noon

Transform how you take and share notes with Microsoft OneNote. Unlike a word processor, OneNote allows you to easily include images, videos, and audio clips anywhere on the page. Organize information into virtual notebooks that can be shared across all your devices and with others. This workshop shows you the basic features of OneNote, how to navigate the interface, and how to synchronize OneNote across mobile devices. Registration is required.

Working Towards Tenure

Join Associate Provost Jim Jawahar for a special discussion that focuses on research and issues related to promotion and tenure. This event is designed especially for early career faculty, although any tenure-track faculty members are welcome to attend. We expect this event to be very popular, so registration is required.
