What do I need to do in order to attend graduate school? How much time and financial resources do I need? How well will I do on the admission test? Where can I find support to help me through the application process?
These are common thoughts that many students and alumni have as they consider graduate school. The Career Center’s Graduate School Series helps Redbirds considering or planning on attending graduate school to address those concerns.
“When students and alumni consider graduate school they’re not just making an educational choice, they’re making a significant investment in their future,” said Maureen Roach, Career Center senior assistant director for programming and events. “The Graduate School Series provides them with the information and answers to the questions they have in order to make a well-informed decision about additional learning, and how to successfully proceed through the admission process.”
The Graduate School Series is held every Friday from February 3 through March 3 from noon until 1 p.m. in the Career Center, 110P Student Services Building. Attendees can attend any one workshop or all five. There is also a free practice test for those who want to identify their strengths and weaknesses with the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).

- February 17 — Writing a CV/Resume & Other Strategies
- February 24 — Kaplan’s Introduction to the GRE & Test Taking Strategies
- February 25 — Kaplan’s Free GRE Practice Test (9 a.m.–1 p.m., 138 Schroeder Hall, registration required)
- March 3 — Kaplan’s Personal Statement Secrets
