FUNDING FOR 750 CANDIDATES
The National Board Resource Center is excited to announce that Illinois will now be able to fund 750 candidates for the 2012-2013 cycle. This funding is intended only for candidate applications and will generate a positive impact for the expansion of NBCTs in Illinois. Thanks to the dedication and commitment of NBCTs, administrators, and R.O.Es, candidates continue to apply daily for the subsidy, with the approved list of these candidates continually increasing. The fee subsidy application and instructions can be found on the NBRC website.
Professional Development for Schools
TakeOne! is a unique offering from National Board for Professional Teaching Standards that provides a standards-based approach for improving teaching practices and links student learning to effective instruction. Teachers prepare and submit one video portfolio from any of the current certificate areas of National Board Certification, plan and achieve specific learning outcomes, and adapt their teaching practices to the needs of individual students. Take One! is available to all teachers as well as induction or pre-service teachers, principals, administrators, professors in colleges of education and those who provide support for National Board Certification candidates.
