Members of the Illinois State University community are invited to attend a Peace Corps 50th anniversary celebration reception on Wednesday, March 30, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in 132 Stevenson Hall. The event is sponsored by the Stevenson Center for Community and Economic Development.
The event will feature photos and displays highlighting the Peace Corps service of Stevenson Center graduate students. Non-perishable food items will also be collected for donation to a local food pantry.
The Stevenson Center offers master’s degrees in applied economics, political science and sociology with an emphasis on community and economic development activities. The Center’s programs include the Peace Corps Fellows/USA program for individuals who have completed Peace Corps service, and the Peace Corps Masters International program for those preparing for overseas Peace Corps work.
