Brabant lands University’s first NIH pre-doc fellowship for mosquito research

Peter Brabant, a doctoral student in the School of Biological Sciences at Illinois State University, has been awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Illinois State’s rising graduation rate among Top 10 percent

Illinois State University’s graduation rate continues to climb and is now at 71.8 percent, which puts it in the top 10 percent of public and private universities nationwide.

Aitken to receive Herb Sanders award

Brian Aitken will be honored with the 2014 Herb Sanders Award for Outstanding Academic Advisement at Founders Day, Feb. 19.

U-Club to talk astronomy

The University Club (U-Club) will meet from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in the Faculty/Staff Commons of the Bone Student Center. Lee Green from the Twin City Amateur Astronomers Association will present What’s Up in Astronomy for 2015. His talk will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Illinois State University students, faculty and staff will be able to renew their Illinois driver’s licenses and purchase vehicle license plate stickers without leaving campus on Thursday, Jan. 29. Illinois Secretary of State’s Office staff will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Bone Student Center Old Main Room.
