Social Issues Fair set for Bone Student Center

On Monday, October 29, from 2-6 p.m., Illinois State University’s American Democracy Project and School of Communication are co-sponsoring a Social Issues Fair in the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center.

Guy Fraker to discuss Abe Lincoln’s circuit, new book

Lincoln scholar Guy Fraker will talk about his latest book, Lincoln’s Ladder to the Presidency: The Eighth Judicial Circuit, at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, on the main floor of Milner Library. A book signing will follow the talk. The talk is part of the 2012 Speaker Series.

Professor to give public lecture on US Courts of Appeals

Stephen Wasby, a judicial scholar, will give a talk titled “The U.S. Courts of Appeals: The Courts Nobody Knows” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center at Illinois State University. Sponsored by Criminal Justice Sciences, the talk is free and open to the public.

American Democracy Project to host presidential debate series

Illinois State University’s American Democracy Project will host a screening of the first presidential debate in Schroeder 130 on Wednesday, October 3, from 7-10:30 p.m. The debate between President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney will focus on the future of domestic policy.

Festival of India on the Quad set for September 29

It will be an afternoon filled with the rich culture of India. The Festival of India will be 2:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, on the Illinois State University Quad. The event is free and open to the public.
