Nominations for honorary degrees open, due September 15
Illinois State University is requesting nominations for candidates for the Honorary Degree. Honorary degrees may be awarded by Illinois State University in recognition of persons who have achieved a record of major distinction at the state or national level in education, public service, literature, business, fine arts, or other professions.
Dr. Natalie Shaheen wins $1.5 million NSF CAREER grant
Dr. Natalie L. Shaheen, assistant professor in the Department of Special Education (SED) is the recipient of a National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER grant of just over $1.5 million.

Benefit Choice Fair and upcoming enrollment period
The annual CMS Benefit Choice Open Enrollment Period will run May 1-31, with elections effective July 1. A Benefit Choice Fair will be held Tuesday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Prairie Room, Bone Student Center.
Spring 2024 Commencement, May 10-11
Illinois State University’s spring commencement will be held in five ceremonies with two on Friday, May 10, and three on Saturday, May 11, in CEFCU Arena.
Illinois State University cultural recognition ceremonies to celebrate graduating students
Registered student organizations (RSOs) at Illinois State University affiliated with the Multicultural Center will host 2024 cultural graduation recognition events. Lavender Graduation kicks off the celebrations on April 20, followed by Nuestros Logros, MAPS, and Umoja: Black Graduation Celebration.
Targeted search announced for vice president for academic affairs and provost position
President Aondover Tarhule has announced a targeted search for the role of vice president for academic affairs and provost. Dr. Ani Yazedjian is the nominee and will host a Campus Open Forum on Thursday, April 25, at 11 a.m., in the Old Main Room, Bone Student Center.
Volunteers Needed for Pass It On 2024
