The Doris Dungey Endowed Scholarship is helping journalism major Maritza Navarl-Lopez pursue her dream. The scholarship is awarded to a journalism, mass media, or production student who has exhibited academic achievement and work experience, volunteer experience, or extracurricular involvement.
Cody Rogers ’21 graduated with a bachelor’s in theatre teacher education and an endorsement in psychology. He was surprised and thrilled to be awarded the Diana Corley Schnapp Endowed Scholarship. “I felt the financial weight I have always been carrying get lighter, and I could breathe more easily,” he said.
Employing the threat theory and theories of identity, Dr. T.Y. Wang, University professor and chair of the department of politics and government, and his coauthor analyzed 2018–2020 panel data collected in Taiwan. The results were presented at the International Conference of Taiwan Institute for Governance and Communication Research on October 28, 2021.
Dr. Meghan Leonard presided over a discussion on voting rights and voting suppression for the “Making Democracy Work” series presented by the League of Women Voters of Greater Peoria.
Tyler Bloomfield studies music education and music composition at Illinois State University. Bloomfield’s passion for music is evident through the time he took to study composition strategies and write music before beginning coursework for his major.
