Thanks to some creative thinking within the College of Arts and Sciences, the students in the departments of History, Politics and Government, Criminal Justice, and Sociology and Anthropology have a new place to settle, study, relax, digest, and collaborate. Funds were secured from Academic Enhancement Fees to recreate and update a former underutilized computer lab.

Distinguished Professor Ali Riaz was quoted in news report in WMBD Television on Afghanistan situation after the abrupt withdrawal of the United States. Riaz said that rampant corruption, lack of inclusivity, the serious disconnect between government and the people in Afghanistan has caused the dramatic collapse of the Afghan government.

Wang publishes on ‘COVID-19 and the Rally Effect in Taiwan’

Dr. T.Y. Wang, ISU University Professor and Chair of the Department of Politics and Government, has published a co-authored study in Asian Survey (v.61, no.3: 388-410). “COVID-19 and the Rally Effect in Taiwan” examines the rally phenomenon when the island country was confronted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
