Teachers from Thomas Metcalf School traveled to Finland last May and left with ideas and a new innovative approach to teaching musical instruments called Figurenotes that has begun to change the Metcalf music program.
Nancy O’Neill, a senior music education major in the College of Fine Arts, has been selected for a 2013–2014 Fulbright Student Scholarship to study at the Resonaari School in Helsinki, Finland.
Erin Mikulec, assistant professor in the School of Teaching and Learning, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture and conduct research at the University of Helsinki, Finland during the 2013-2014 academic year.
