Castiblanco encourages other Bloomington-Normal residents to visit Illinois State with fresh eyes and a different perspective. “I’ve still been able to get out of Bloomington-Normal in a sense by coming to college here,” she says. “It’s all worked out, and this is a great university.”

The Honors Program is proud of two Illinois State University Physics majors who were recently awarded the Goldwater Scholarship. Honors Program Assistant Director Christie Martin was pleased to work with Saxton and Unger throughout the application process.

Mary Doro has enjoyed her well-rounded experience at Illinois State, both on campus and beyond. Doro, a senior Presidential Scholar and special education major, has studied abroad three times, and Honors Travel to Peru over winter break was her first study abroad experience.
