Collection Spotlight: Women’s Physical Education Majors (PEM) Club

While there have been hundreds of registered student organizations in ISU’s history, only one club focused on women and their love for their chosen major, physical education. Researchers using the Women’s Physical Education Majors (PEM) Club collection can see how this club became a campus staple through its many sponsored co-ed activities and events.

P.E. majors meet with state reps in Springfield

A group of physical education students went to Springfield to advocate for physical education in the schools. They met with representatives of the House to advocate for a bill that would permit physical and health educators be deemed “highly qualified” and to oppose a bill that would allow students in grades nine through 12 to waive out of physical education if enrolled in two or more Advanced Placement courses.
