The Richard A. Manahan Family Teaching Excellence Recognition Award rewards teaching excellence
The Richard A. Manahan Family Teaching Excellence Recognition Award was created by Dr. Richard A. Manahan and family in 1984. The award is given to a full-time Department of Educational Administration and Foundations (EAF) faculty member to recognize significant teaching quality. The recipient’s quality to, “inspire students to achieve their full learning potential both in and outside of the classroom” is a desired requirement.
The Michael D. Schermer Student Leader Excellence Endowment creates student leaders
Michael D. Schermer ’73, M.S. ’78, served as vice president of the student body in 1973. He began working at Illinois State in Student Affairs in 1974, building a 30-year career during which he held multiple positions.
