To help celebrate the love of languages/literature, we will read 10 poems from around the world this year. Readers include Illinois State international faculty and students from Russia, Taiwan, Iran, the Netherlands, and Thailand.

Dr. John McHale wins the Santa Barbara International Diversity Film Script Award

Illinois State University School of Communication Professor John McHale and co-author Xavier Jackson have won the 2023 Santa Barbara International Diversity Film Script Award for their script Nurses Versus the Virus, a dramatic feature film about a Black male nurse on the front lines during the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Queer Talks Lunch ‘n’ Learn to survey recent transgender legislation

Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Queer Coalition, Illinois State’s LGBTQIA+ graduate student, staff, and faculty affinity group, are teaming up with the Dean of Students Office to provide a survey of recent anti-trans legislation and its potential impact on ISU students led by Brigid Aslin and Students’ Attorney Samantha Vazquez.
