The National Endowment for the Arts awarded $15,000 in Grants for Arts Projects funding to support the work of Obsidian: Literature and Arts in the African Diaspora.

Dr. Ollie Watts Davis, the Suzanne and William Allen Distinguished Professor in Music at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), will present “Yet With A Steady Beat: The Art, Aesthetics, and Activism of the Music of Black Americans” at 7 p.m. March 22. A question-and-answer session with Dr. Watts will immediately follow her presentation.  Registration for the free, online presentation is open now.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion update, February 19

This update includes increased retention numbers for students of color, new faces helping to create an infrastructure for continued DEI efforts on campus, and funds available for identity-based registered student organizations.
