International student Prince Kessie came to Illinois State University with some trepidation about being so far from home and family. He also came with plenty of determination to pursue a graduate degree in Creative Technologies (CTK). Once here, the kindness of strangers-turned-friends has made all the difference.
CSD studies abroad
After a hiatus in travel due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) students and faculty are back to traveling the globe. Study abroad provides students with the opportunity to experience other cultures, form stronger relationships with the faculty and fellow students, and connect with individuals around the world. The CSD department offers two trips every year: one during Spring break and one during Winter break.
International students prepare for life after graduation with help from Career Services
The process of applying for jobs can be an anxiety-inducing experience. For international students, the ordeal can be significantly more challenging. Career Services at Illinois State University aims to ease the burden by partnering with the Office of International Engagement (OIE) to host the International Student Career Series (ISCS).
AsiaConnect April event: tabletop games and karaoke
Come play board games with us! Want to learn to play mahjong? The popular title-based game in Asia is a game of skills, luck, and strategy. AsiaConnect is hosting a game day on Friday, May 3. We will end the school year with games (board games and mahjong). Light refreshments and Chinese/Japanese tea will be provided.
