Research award winners for 2023-2024 announced
Illinois State University announced the winners of the Outstanding University Researcher and the Outstanding University Creative Activity awards. Also honored are the winners of the Research Initiative Awards and the Creative Activity Initiative Awards. Recipients for these awards are selected from competitive pools of candidates.
Sewing a vision of peace: Students create International Day of Peace quilt
This fall, Milner Library partnered with the Department of Health Sciences, specifically the students in the Global Health course, to design a community quilt based on the 17 goals for sustainable development created by the United Nations (UN) for the International Day of Peace. It is on display on Milner Library’s sixth floor through mid-December.
New master of public health program trains future leaders
Bella Ogurek ’23 is no stranger to hard work, and she thrives on a busy schedule. That’s a good thing given that she’s a licensed emergency medical technician, a graduate assistant for Safe Redbirds Ambassadors, and she teaches CPR through Environmental Health and Safety. She accomplishes all that while pursuing a master’s degree in the new fully online master of public health (M.P.H.) program, which prepares students to become leaders in the public health sector.
